Never scrub your face too hard. This will make acne worse. Do not use skin products such as facial
scrubs, masks or astringents. These products will irritate your skin, which will aggravate acne.
Excessive washing and scrubbing also can irritate skin. You should regularly shampoo your hair if
you develop acne around your hairline.

Avoid oily or greasy cosmetics, hair-styling products or sunscreens. Only use products that
are "water-based". In some cases, the sun worsens acne. Moreover, some acne medications can
make you more susceptible to the sun's rays.
Talk to your your doctor to make sure if your medication is one of these, and if so, stay out of
the sun as much as possible and any time you have to be in the
sun, use sunscreen that doesn't clog the pores.
